WOW April report

Trialling the month about rotation and NEW day – Wednesday, WOW was well attended.
Travelling to Goolwa Railway Station to board the Steam Ranger – Cockle Train our ladies, rattled and rolled the historic line, taking in the sea air and views to die for. Passing through the seaside towns of Middleton, Port Elliot and destination Victor Harbor, the day, simply stunning and turning it on with the weather, in readiness for Easter and catering for the school holiday period. Needless to say, Victor Harbor, was a buzz with holiday makers, families, and the like.

Waiting at the Victor Harbor Station, having had driven the Community Bus from Goolwa, I could only imagine what it would have been like back in the day. The rail system, the lifeline, joining Adelaide to the Fleurieu Coastline, whistles blowing, steam bellowing carrying excited passengers arriving at their holiday destination as well as the comings and goings of travellers in their day-to-day operations. It really is a wonderful historical experience and all who support and fund this facility, should be commended.

Catering for all age groups, a trip on Steam Ranger will bring a smile to your face and reignite the inner child within.

A brief stop and look around in the Victor Harbor Whale and Information Centre, highlighting the whale bone skull, beautiful architectural stone building with loading crane adorned with an assortment of tourist memorabilia. With purchases completed, we set off to our dinner destination – Boulevard Café Victor Harbor.
Nestled away from the hustle and bustle of the town, Boulevard Café, is clearly the local’s choice, and the perfect setting for a light lunch or something a little more satisfying. Worth a try on your next visit to Victor Harbor.
Ahead of schedule, we set off to the next destination, Morgan Park Garden Centre, a gardener’s paradise, quality plants and gift wares. The boot of the bus was well utilised and proved helpful in the transport of the purchases made.
Day complete, filled with banter and loads of laughs, we made our way back via the scenic route of Currency Creek, Ashbourne, Strathalbyn and finally Milang. Another day enjoyed by all who attended.
Remember to check “what’s on @ MOSHCC” and the WOW program.
Reside in Strathalbyn, NO problem, we regularly stop to pick up in Strathalbyn, at the Football Oval gates, Ashbourne Rd, activity location dependent. Please enquire when booking a trip.
WOW is all about the enjoyment of all ladies and I encourage you all to jump on board and mention to a friend, the more the merrier.
