Milang Bowling Club hosts a sold-out Australia Day event each year that has become famously popular in the region. Team bookings for 2026 have already been placed. Hot, breezeless conditions on Sunday 26 January did not deter the crowd of enthusiastic bowlers who comprised 26 teams in the 2025 event. Bowlers started the day with a delightful champagne breakfast prepared by MBC members before enjoying playing the two excellent bowling greens superbly prepared by MBC greenkeeper Greg Bowen.

Participating teams played two games interrupted by a welcomed turkey- roll salad lunch with plenty more liquid refreshments in true Aussie-style. At the end of the bowling the clubroom was packed full for presentations to winning teams. The winners of the MBC 2025 Australia Day event were the team from Edwardstown lead by Garth Saunders.
MBC President Brian Patterson and event host the hard-working Heather Maddern both extended thanks to all participants, special thanks to generous sponsors and donors, and to the many club members who provided their time, effort and support to organise the once again very successful Australia Day event.
