It is my pleasure to have recently joined the MADCA team based at MOSHCC as the Volunteer Coordinator. Passionate about Community, I enjoy assisting people holistically to empower themselves to achieve their true work life and volunteering goals.
I’m not a Milang local, however MOSHCC is a place I’ve always felt I can call home. Having completed my Cert IV studies in Community Development, Community Services and Training & Assessment here back in 2012, I soon learned MOSHCC was a place filled with much warmth & support.
Having grown up in Goolwa on the weekends and holidays, I’ve now been based there for the past 15 years. I’ve been enjoying the picturesque commute which feels like 5 minutes down the road after having lived in remote WA where a trip to Perth took 14 hours.
I have an array of experience, starting as a Hairdresser, then into Hospitality, Travel, Foreign Exchange, Licensing, Marketing & my previous position 10 years + in Community Banking. I have also Volunteered in many roles from face painting dressed as a witch for Black Friday Blue Light Discos, Coordinating the Biggest Morning tea annually in the Goolwa Shopping Centre to Coordinating the Goolwa Primary School Twilight Community Fair. I have also been on the Steering Committee, Treasurer & Volunteer Coordinator positions for the Goolwa Community Centre, and currently volunteer Shelving at the Goolwa Library.
Other areas of interest include Personal Training & Development, Creative Arts, Drumming to create social inclusion, improve mental health, mindfulness meditation & support.
In the few weeks that I have been onboard, I have witnessed an amazing team of staff & volunteers. I would like to acknowledge and thank all of the volunteers for their tremendous efforts and hard work and I’m looking forward to working with you all to continue making great things happen in the Milang Community.
