COMMITTEE
Committee members bring their diverse perspectives, abilities and experience to the Committee’s deliberations so that the Committee can effectively govern MADCA and achieve its purposes. Committee members discuss and debate matters fully but once decisions are reached, every Committee member has an obligation to support that decision, not withstanding their rights in accordance with the MADCA Constitution.
Ordinarily the Committee meets twelve (12) times per year for approximately 2.5 hours, with one or two strategically focussed workshops convened during the year. Presently these meetings are held during business hours. General meetings of the organisation are held 3 – 4 times a year as decided at the Annual General Meeting.
An effective Committee comprises individuals with integrity and the capacity for sound judgement, who have the appropriate mix of skills and experience. A diversity of perspectives contributes to effective governance. The Committee requires members with professional and volunteer experience and a diversity of genders, ages, ethnicity and geography. Consistent with the non-profit status and strong volunteer ethos of MADCA, no Committee members receive a remuneration
