Hi fellow gardener’s
I’m back, a little rest from Doctor’s appointments for us at the moment but others were not so lucky, one member sick, others with doctor’s appointments, but we had an almost full bus with a returned member and a visitor, hope Pam will join us again.
This trip was a long one as we went to Virginia, always a favourite with many items from gifts to Lavenders and Kangaroo Plants to Orchids joining us on the bus. After a light lunch which varied from cheese cake and coffee to a shared bowl of wedges we left for our trip to Gawler and Valdovis which is probably for the last time as they are closing down. Many bargains could be found here as everything was 30% off marked price. I found a very nicely unusually marked Cyclamen to add to my collection. If you are thinking of making a trip out there it would be best to ring as they are trading week by week.
Then we had to have one of Peter’s mystery tours which I think even he got a little lost but, Ria came to the rescue and guided us to Oakbank where we enjoyed a cup of tea or coffee and drew the raffle which was won by June. Then we headed for home arriving a little later than usual.
The next trip will be on the 14th August and we will be visiting Norwood, Hynes, and Klemzig nurseries before going on to Serenity Water Gardens a new one for us. You will need to bring our lunch as we do not know where we will end up for lunch PLEASE ring me on 85370453 if you would like to book a seat.
