MILANG CFS OPEN DAY

On Sunday June 30th, Milang CFS, welcomed the local community to their Station. Clayton CFS members joined in and brought their truck, as did SA Ambulance Service.

The sun shone, despite earlier rain and around 60 people attended the Open Day and enjoyed a sausage sizzle and specially iced CFS cupcakes.

It was great to see families with young children attend, with youngsters enjoying sitting in the trucks and ambulance, and meeting and hugging Smokey the giant Koala.  Children gathered around the clubroom table to do some great colouring in, while adults mingled and shared stories.

The aim of the Open Day was to introduce the community to CFS members and show them where Milang CFS is based, to familiarise children with the trucks and ambulance, and to promote the work of this important community asset.

It is hoped that some visitors will consider joining the Milang team, either as fire fighters, or auxiliary members. More hands make light work, as the saying goes.  Anyone wishing to join Milang CFS will be fully trained free of charge and warmly welcomed. Please email our Captain Alistair McInnes if you would like to know more about joining: alistairsmcinnes@gmail.com
