Goolwa Wildlife Welfare Org. kindly loaned some bird costumes for photo opportunities.
There were also moon god and goddess costumes, with capes and headgear to dress up in, to enhance the experience and invoke a few smiles.
An exciting and eclectic display of art and hand-crafted items from our talented locals made the exhibition one not to miss.
This year featured displays of cigar box electric guitars, exquisite needle felted creatures, glass work, paintings, photography, greeting cards, cyanotype, extraordinary mosaic work as well as upcycled owls, hand spun wool knitted beanies and many other treasures.
Visitors were treated to demonstrations of spinning by Robyn Shearer and a mini painting workshop with Madi Elkin of MaeArts, as well as a performance by a local acapella group. This year’s annual mosaic challenge was won by Tania O’Flaherty with her wonderful glass mosaic owl, Archimedes. All entries were enjoyed and admired.
The SALA weekends are an opportunity to mix with like-minded creatives and stay awhile to enjoy conversation, light refreshments and hospitality from our wonderful volunteer team.
Many thanks to all who assisted this year, it takes a dedicated team and you are all very much appreciated. Thanks also to those who attended, we hope to see you again next year. Once again it was a highlight on the local calendar.
